Job Description
Silicon Kinetics is a privately-owned advanced biotech tools company which has developed a novel, high-performance and highly competitive porous silicon-based system for measurement and characterization of biomolecular interactions. We are looking for an Application Scientist who will be responsible for leading the effort to develop relevant assays on next generation protein interaction equipment and communicate those results to the scientific community and customer base. The successful candidate will be intimately familiar with the use of current protein interaction assay techniques (eg SPR, ELISA, gel-shift, GST pulldown, microdialysis) in academia and industry. He or she will be the key hands on contributor in pushing the state-of-the-art in sensitivity and cost per assay using the new nPOI (nanoPore Optical Interferometry) technique. Different than in a pure laboratory position, the Application Scientist is also a key technical communicator for Silicon Kinetics. Up to 35% travel will be required in which the successful candidate will present the results of his or her work as well as demonstrate the capabilities of the nPOI platform at meetings and customer sites.
