Surface Chemistries
3D surfaces for all SKi Sensor™ chips are prepared to have extremely low non-specific binding. Complex biological fluids like plasma can be used without deleterious effects.
Covalent chemistries currently available:
Benzalydehyde Chip: Does not require an activation step. Protein is crosslinked offline with stoichiometric amount of linker, then conjugated to the surface.
Carboxyl Chip: Amine-coupling.
Non-covalent chemistries currently available:
Streptavidin Chip: For biotinylated proteins, peptides and ligands
NTA-Ni Chip for polyhistidine - tag applications
Protein A Chip for immunoglobulin capture
Protein G Chip for immunoglobulin capture
Silicon Kinetics has also developed procedures for covalent stabilization of indirectly-captured ligands.
